One of favorite thing’s about working with entrepreneurs is the opportunity to bring their vision to reality. I’m a integrator and some of my favorite roles have been when I’m paired with a visionary who has the big dream, but needs assistance to get there. I have an operations brain and I’m detail-oriented so I like coming in to set up systems, hire teams, and be the glue that works across a growing organization to start gaining momentum.
One of these visionaries is Jackie Mulligan. I had previously worked with her in the wellness industry and she came to me in 2020 looking for opportunities to grow her health and wellness practice, Reform. Her health journey, as well as her passion for faith and teaching, had helped her develop a holistic nutrition practice. During the pandemic, with more people at home, she found a surge of interest in her offerings. Previously she had worked with clients on an individual basis, helping them to improve their health and wellbeing.
Scaling from 1:1 to Serving 1:Many
With a growing waitlist, she came to me with a curriculum she had developed. Taking what she had learned from hundreds of clients and her own faith journey, she had the idea to scale her reach through an online course that taught participants the fundamentals of health and faith to reach their full potential in body, mind, and soul.
I helped her set up an initial test using Zoom to connect with several members of her waitlist. After seeing initial success and gaining feedback, we continued to formalize the program. Over the next year and a half, we scaled the class to reach hundreds (now thousands) of participants globally. We built a beautiful course companion book and online platform to keep students connected. We grew the practice – taking on other functional health practitioners, adding on customer success, community management, marketing, and finance to ensure that the business ran smoothly and delighted our customers. It’s now a beautiful apostolate and non-profit that serves a global community.
